Tinia Project- Enviroment/Scene Illustrators Wanted

My art partner and I are releasing a serialized illustrated web-novel in August- September 2012. The focus of the story is sky pirates and their various adventures.

We are looking to hire several artists for this project…for times sake…and because we love variety. ^_^

I am looking to hire:
Environment artists- Artists capable of illustrating detailed environments.


The art will be used in the "world map" portion of our website.

For the world map we are looking for a few key components (not all of which will be from the same artist).

Right now we are working with an artist and developing an overmap - just the main continents and major land / sky features. When it's all done, we'll use flash or an html image map to make each continent click-able. Readers can click and find a larger map of a continent, with cities, notable features (i.e. China's Great Wall or Canada's Niagara Falls), and perhaps locations of major events in the story marked.

The next level down from there would be an illustration of the environment/scenery and some information about the area. The overall feel would hopefully be that one was zooming in on a position on the planet from orbit.

The environments in question range from scifi (orbital cities and installations) to steampunk-esk fantasy (cities with early 1900s feel) to rich organic landscapes (deep rainforest-like area and cold, icy tundras).

Budget range- $100- $300 per piece or an hourly rate of $6-$25/hour (we can negotiate higher rates based off of skill/ detail of the assigned piece).

Deadlines for work:
We have found a couple artists we like for the first set of art that needs to be done by launch. However, as this is an on-going project, we will need art through out the projects life.
The story will update monthly so hired artists will most likely be given roughly 2-3 months to get work done.

We are also looking for:

Chapter Cover Illustrators- Artists capable of drawing complex backgrounds and several characters interacting.

Must be able to draw characters of varying body types and age.

ALL STYLES ACCEPTED. Just like the environment illustrations….We like variety!

As I have said above- scenes will take place in scifi to steampunk-esk to fantasy settings. So artists must be able to demonstrate that they can handle one or all of those subject matters in their portfolios.

Budget Range: $60-$300 per piece or an hourly rate of $6-$15/per hour. Higher rates can be negotiated based off of the artist's skill level.


Deadlines for work:
Three of our chapter covers need to get done prior to August/September 2012.

But because this is an on going project, chapter art will be needed throughout the life of the story. Hired artists will most likely be given roughly 2-3 months to get work done.
